July Happenings

Hi folks, hope everyone is enjoying these wonderful Maine summer days. Don't tell too many people though. I've had a fantastic couple of weeks of music since I last spoke with you. Marsha and Tino joined us the last two Fridays at The Wharf for Happy Hour. What a blast!!!!Those guys are so much fun. Steve Doyan and Ricky Dosedlo chipped in a bunch of songs too. Old Hallowell Days was a splendid as usual with a small town parade, interesting musical acts throughout the day and fireworks at night. I was on a dumptruck with family and friends overlooking the Kennebec River and seeing the skyline
lite up. Thanks Peter for the party.

Excerpts from The Banjoman song made it on the radio this week. Local DJ Don Brown played it for my long time musical partner who is walking from Georgia to Maine on the Applachian Trail. He holds a weekly interview with The Banjoman every Wednesday at 8am. I'm going to try and sneak in on it this week.

I played Beaverbrook Campground and was joined on stage by an up and coming star. The photo is of me and my friend, Tyler, taking a break from jammin' for the campers in the Hut.

A great line up of music events in August. Check my calendar page on the web-site and hope to see you guys out on the road. Please stop by and say hello.

Warm regards.....Tom G

Readfield barn dance, 7/1/06

What a cool weekend of performing music. The Banjoman
arrived home from the Applachian Trail. He played his
tail off on the banjo. It felt like putting my foot
into an old shoe. Real comfortable. Saturday night we
played a good old fashion barn dance in Readfield to
celebrate some friends 25 anniversary party. About 250
people partied, danced and sang from 4pm until midnight.
There were about 15 musician friends on the gig.
Throughout the night I couldn't help but think what a
better and happier world we'd live in if every Saturday
night was spent in such a neighborly way. We even had
some teenage newcomers on the scene making their
performing debut. Anna and Nicole sounded great! In
closing, Live Music Makes Memories.........keep on,
keeping on.....
